Our Nexus Grip Elite Flexible Gloves Cut F provide the highest-level of mechanical threat resistance – EN388 Level 4 resistance to abrasion, tear and puncture, as well as Level F protection from cuts. The palm is coated with a sandy nitrile foam coating for superb oil, wet and dry grip – hence the “grip” in the name. These gloves provide great dexterity, flexibility and breathability thanks to the thin, fine 18 gauge HPPE construction, and have a reinforced nitrile thumb crotch as well as anti-slip characteristics.
The higher the gauge number of HPPE, the thinner and finer the fibers used in its construction. This results in lightweight gloves with superb dexterity and increased tactile sensitivity. HPPE gauge can range anywhere from low (about 7 to 9 gauge, typically providing higher-level abrasion and tear resistance but reduced flexibility) through medium (10 to 12 gauge, a good mix of protection and flexibility) up to high (13 gauge and above, usually to a maximum of around 21 gauge, mostly associated with flexibility and a small amount of protection).
The 18 gauge HPPE used in the Nexus Grip Elite Flexible Gloves Cut F make them among our most dextrous gloves, meaning they can be used in applications such as recycling, glass handling and auto assembly. The fact that these gloves also have high-level mechanical protection at this thin gauge is rare, and also allows them to be used in things like metal fabrication and stamping where the threat is greater. Furthermore, the excellent palm grip from the sandy nitrile foam coating means they’re suitable also for the oil industry. They are truly an all-purpose option.
